Each winner receives a single scholarship worth $10,000. In total, there are fifteen scholarships available, 8 for graduating high school students and 7 for post-secondary students (Undergraduate and post-graduate).
Three scholarships per category are also reserved exclusively for RBC Royal Bank clients. If you have indicated that you are an RBC Royal Bank client, your status as an account holder will be verified at the close of the scholarship application acceptance period. Account(s) must be active and in good standing as of February 28, 2017 and through to the scholarship selection and announcement period. If your status as an account holder cannot be verified or the account is not active or in good standing at the time of winner announcement, you will not be eligible to compete for one of the three scholarships per student category offered exclusively to RBC Royal Bank customers but will remain eligible to compete for one of the remaining RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships.

To be eligible for the RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships, students must fall into one of the two categories below:
Employees, directors, and officers of Royal Bank and its subsidiaries, or yconic, and any child of any of the foregoing are not eligible for the Scholarships. For greater certainty, “child” shall be defined herein as a person whose parent or legal guardian is an employee, director or officer of Royal Bank or any of its subsidiaries. You must have a minimum 75% average in your last completed year of study.
If you are enrolled in a pass/fail program, such as a medical degree, and do not have a grade average, you must be passing your program and in good standing at your school in order to qualify. In this case, please check the box that indicates you have a 75% or above average on the application form.
Yes, you are eligible as long as you are planning to continue your studies in a new undergraduate, graduate or diploma program in the fall 2017 and have at least 2 years of full time studies in the new program.
Yes. However, your permanent residence status must be approved and finalized at the time the scholarships are awarded.
Unfortunately not. As per the requirements of the scholarship, you have to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada to apply.
No. You must be attending a publicly funded college or university in Canada.
You may still be eligible to apply provided you are participating in an exchange program as part of your course curriculum at a publicly funded Canadian college or university (your graduation diploma must be issued from a Canadian college or university).
No. If you intend to take a year off after you submit your application, you are not eligible to apply. You must be enrolled in full-time studies at a recognized publicly funded Canadian college or university in fall 2017.

If confirmation of activities or documentation cannot be verified by the scholarship administrator, yconic, within the specified timeframe, the application may be subject to disqualification.
No, you do not have to be an RBC Royal Bank client in order to receive a scholarship. Six of the fifteen scholarships are exclusively reserved for RBC Royal Bank clients (three scholarships per student category) leaving the remaining available scholarships for students who may or may not be RBC Royal Bank clients.
No, you are eligible for all scholarships providing you meet all of the eligibility criteria.
